'Anatomy of a Book' will feature bookmaking displays, artworks for sale, and a retrospective on The Harebrained Press Project. Bookmaking-related demonstrations are scheduled for 11am and 2pm on Friday March 10th. Closer than Breathing, Seven Tales will be available for purchase.

R.I. Sutton’s limited-edition handmade book Closer than Breathing, Seven Tales will be launched by local poet and publisher, Tegan Gigante of Birdfish Books. The event will feature guest speaker Harry Oldmeadow, editor and author of Journeys East.

About the Speakers

 

 

Tegan Gigante will be launching Closer than Breathing, Seven Tales. Aside from being a poet, Tegan is also a radio host on Castlemine's MAINfm, a publisher, performer—and a convener of poetry recitals and philosophy lectures in the local area.  Under her publishing name, Birdfish Books, she ‘creates books to nourish the mind and heart’. 

 

 

Harry Oldmeadow was, until his retirement, Coordinator of Philosophy and Religious Studies at La Trobe University, Bendigo. He has degrees in History, Comparative Religion and Cinema Studies. His principal interests include the spiritual interactions of East and West, the perennial philosophy, environmental philosophy, and primordial traditions, especially those of the indigenous people of Australia and the Plains Indians of North America.
